The Head of Industrial Empowerment at the East Java Province Industry and Trade Office, Ria Trianamiki, stated that the national chemical industry has shown improving performance and contributes significantly to economic growth.

"Proper management is necessary to minimize risks to worker safety, the environment, and industrial facilities. Therefore, the government views that guidance and supervision on the use of chemicals need to be strengthened through technical regulations at the Ministerial Regulation level," said Ria Trianamiki.

Ria Trianamiki explained, "Today's agenda serves as a platform to evaluate and align policies, enhance industrial preparedness, and build cross-sector synergy in reducing potential risk levels, particularly within East Java Province, as well as supporting compliance with Ministry of Industry Regulation Number 19 of 2019 concerning Chemical Emergency Prevention and Response in Chemical Industry Business Activities," said Ria Trianamiki.

In line with this, the Director of Upstream Chemical Industry at the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Sri Bimo Pratomo, also stated, "The impact of a chemical emergency not only harms the industrial sector materially, but also affects the safety of workers, the surrounding community, and environmental preservation. Therefore, the policy and implementation system for Chemical Emergency Prevention and Response (P2KDBK) has become an absolute necessity that must be applied in a disciplined, integrated, and sustainable manner by every chemical industry actor in East Java Province," stated Sri Bimo Pratomo.

According to him, the safety and security of the chemical industry is not merely the fulfillment of administrative or regulatory obligations, but a tangible manifestation of humanitarian responsibility and business sustainability itself. "Thus, through this agenda, it is hoped to generate various constructive ideas, applicable policy recommendations, and concrete steps in strengthening chemical risk mitigation in East Java Province," emphasized Sri Bimo Pratomo.
