Environmental Performance
Environmental Management Systems Verification
PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) implements an Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001:2015 to ensure that environmental aspects and impacts are managed systematically, effectively, and sustainably. The implementation is supported by ISO 14001:2015 certification at branches and operational units that have met the standard's requirements, providing external verification of compliance with the Environmental Management System standard. One of the certified branches is the Tarakan Branch, including its Berau Operational Unit, whose operations contributed 4% of the Company's total revenue in 2025.
To ensure the effectiveness of its implementation, SUCOFINDO also conducts periodic Internal Quality Audits (IQA) across operational units, divisions, Strategic Business Units (SBUs), and branches. These audits include assessments of compliance with ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System requirements, identification of audit findings and nonconformities, and the establishment of follow-up actions as part of the continuous improvement process to enhance environmental performance.
To promote transparency in the implementation and verification of its Environmental Management System, SUCOFINDO publicly discloses ISO 14001:2015 certificates for certified branches and operational units, along with documentation of Internal Quality Audits related to the implementation of the standard.

Energy Consumption
PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) implements various energy efficiency initiatives as part of its efforts to promote more sustainable operations. Electricity efficiency measures include the use of LED lighting, which has been implemented in office facilities since 2017, as well as the gradual shutdown of lighting and air-conditioning systems beginning at 5:30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB). At the Head Office, these systems are shut down after 7:00 p.m., with exceptions for corridor lighting and one elevator to support operational needs.
Fuel efficiency is also promoted through the increased use of virtual meetings to reduce business travel and regular maintenance of operational vehicles to maintain fuel efficiency. Furthermore, in line with the Sustainability Blueprint and the Company's Long-Term Plan (RJPP) 2025–2029, SUCOFINDO plans to develop a renewable energy transition roadmap, with phased implementation beginning in 2027. The roadmap will include feasibility assessments, the establishment of an energy consumption baseline, and the development of targets to strengthen the Company's energy management and transition efforts.

Waste Disposal
PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) implements a structured domestic waste management approach as part of its efforts to maintain environmental cleanliness and promote responsible operations. All domestic solid waste generated from operational activities is handed over to designated waste management operators for further handling in accordance with applicable waste management procedures.
Meanwhile, domestic wastewater is directed to a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) for treatment before being reused. Approximately 80% of the treated wastewater is reused for landscape irrigation and green area maintenance, contributing to water use efficiency and reducing wastewater discharge. This approach reflects SUCOFINDO's efforts to strengthen waste management and resource recovery practices to improve the Company's environmental performance.
Water Consumption
PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) uses water to support various operational activities, including domestic office needs, cleaning of laboratory equipment and operational vehicles, and maintenance of green areas. The primary water source is the municipal water supply network operated by the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM), supplemented by limited groundwater extraction from deep wells.
To promote comprehensive and responsible water resource management, SUCOFINDO focuses not only on water use efficiency but also on monitoring the volume of wastewater discharged from its operations. Water efficiency measures include awareness campaigns promoting responsible water use, regular inspections of water distribution networks and installations, and prompt responses to leaks. These practices are promoted across the Head Office, service units, and branch offices.
The following tables present data on water consumption and wastewater discharge within the operational scope of the Head Office. During the 2022–2025 period, water consumption fluctuated, with a gradual shift toward greater reliance on the PDAM water supply network. Similar variations were observed in wastewater discharge volumes during the 2023–2025 period, as detailed in the following tables.

Climate Governance
PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) strengthens its climate governance through the Sustainability Committee, which forms part of the Company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) governance structure. The Sustainability Committee operates under the direction of the President Director, with the Finance Director serving as the executive responsible for overseeing the Committee. It involves members of the Board of Directors and cross-functional business units organized into environmental, social, and governance areas. This structure supports a coordinated and integrated approach to sustainability management that is aligned with the Company's business strategy.
Within the climate governance framework, the environmental function is primarily responsible for developing climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, managing environmental risks that may affect business operations, and promoting energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, water consumption reduction, and waste management to support progress toward net-zero emissions. The social function supports ESG implementation by strengthening sustainability competencies and awareness, while monitoring emerging trends, regulations, and stakeholder expectations. Meanwhile, the governance function is responsible for integrating ESG risk management into the Company's enterprise risk management system and identifying emerging risks, including climate-related risks.
The Sustainability Committee is authorized to coordinate business units, propose sustainability policies, blueprints, performance targets, and strategies to the Board of Directors, and monitor and evaluate the implementation of ESG policies and the achievement of sustainability targets. Through this governance mechanism, climate change management is addressed not as a standalone environmental issue, but as an integral part of the Company's planning, risk management, performance monitoring, and sustainability-related decision-making processes.
Climate Risk Management
PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) integrates climate-related and sustainability risks into its enterprise risk management processes. These risks are managed through identification, assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of potential impacts on the Company's operations and the achievement of its business objectives.
As part of its sustainability governance, SUCOFINDO is also developing an ESG risk management framework integrated with the Company's existing risk management system. This includes managing environmental risks and identifying emerging risks related to climate change, technology, social issues, and regulatory developments. In addition, the environmental function is mandated to develop climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies and manage environmental risks that could affect the Company's business operations.
Physical Climate Risk Adaptation
PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) is committed to strengthening its resilience to the physical impacts of climate change through environmental risk management integrated with its sustainability governance framework. These efforts focus on developing mitigation and adaptation strategies that consider risk characteristics, operational requirements, and the continuity of the Company's services.
As one example of these efforts, SUCOFINDO has conducted an assessment of the proposed relocation of its Semarang Branch Laboratory in Kaligawe, which faces recurring flood and tidal inundation risks, as well as accessibility challenges. These conditions have affected operational continuity, including delays in sample collection and testing, issuance of test results, employee safety concerns, and potential disruptions to customer services. The assessment also considered the conditions of Semarang's coastal areas, which are affected by land subsidence, sea level rise, and recurring flooding events.
As part of the assessment, SUCOFINDO evaluated several alternative locations based on factors including accessibility, infrastructure, environmental and regulatory considerations, investment requirements, and exposure to natural hazards. The assessment identified the Bukit Semarang Baru (BSB) Industrial Estate as the highest-rated alternative, partly due to its relatively low historical exposure to flooding and tidal inundation and its location on higher ground.
As a follow-up, SUCOFINDO is committed to strengthening its climate change adaptation planning and strategies through the identification and assessment of physical climate risks that may affect the Company's assets, facilities, and operational activities. This approach is expected to support more adaptive decision-making, enhance operational resilience, and maintain service continuity in response to the impacts of climate change.
Net Zero Commitment
PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) supports the transition toward a low-carbon economy and Indonesia's national target of achieving Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2060 or sooner. This commitment is demonstrated through strengthened Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions management, improved energy efficiency, the development of decarbonization initiatives, and the integration of climate change considerations into the Company's strategy and operations.
As part of IDSurvey Group, SUCOFINDO is committed to developing an integrated Net Zero Emissions (NZE) Roadmap. The roadmap will serve as a framework for establishing implementation phases, initiative priorities, and a gradual emissions reduction pathway toward achieving the Company's long-term NZE objectives.
