Denpasar, (21/9) – PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) has reaffirmed its commitment to driving the birth of sustainable innovation through the 2026 Environmental and Social Innovation Awards (ENSIA), which carried the theme “Innovation for Sustainable Business and Resilient Community” (10/9). This commitment is manifested through appreciation given to Local Heroes—individuals who bring forth real innovations and solutions for society while supporting social and environmental sustainability.

Attending the ENSIA 2026 awards ceremony, the President Director of PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO), Sandry Pasambuna, expressed his appreciation to the Local Hero awardees for their contributions and innovations implemented for social and environmental sustainability within the community.

"Local Hero is an appreciation given by SUCOFINDO to innovation drivers who have provided tangible benefits to society and the environment. We appreciate these initiatives and concrete steps as part of an effort to encourage the emergence of more initiators and catalysts for change within the community," stated Sandry Pasambuna.

At ENSIA 2026, the Local Hero category encompasses five topics: poverty alleviation, inequality reduction, women's empowerment, healthy food systems for humans and ecosystems, and the transition to clean energy. These five topics are aligned with the theme of ENSIA 2026, namely "Innovation for Sustainable Business and Resilient Community".

"The Local Hero winners have presented innovations that deliver real impact and are relevant to the theme of ENSIA 2026. This becomes increasingly important amidst geopolitical uncertainties that have the potential to disrupt business supply chains and the rising threat of ecological disasters due to climate change," said Sandry Pasambuna.

According to Sandry, ENSIA 2026 continues to grow as an increasingly inclusive and impactful sustainability innovation platform. SUCOFINDO hopes that more companies, communities, and Local Heroes will get involved in delivering innovations capable of addressing social and environmental challenges concretely.

"We want to see more companies, communities, and Local Heroes get involved and present real innovations. Most importantly, the innovations born from ENSIA do not stop at awards, but can be replicated and provide sustainable benefits for society, the environment, and Indonesia's development," he explained.

At the ENSIA 2026 event, the Inspiring Local Hero category honored 15 recipients across all topics. Sandry hopes this award will broaden inspiration and encourage more similar initiatives within society.

"Local Heroes reflect the fact that change can start from anyone and anywhere. The fifteen recipients of the ENSIA 2026 awards have brought forward various innovations that address real problems in society while contributing to a more sustainable environment," he added.

The contributions of these Local Heroes cover various fields, ranging from opening economic access and opportunities, empowering women, building healthy food systems for humans and ecosystems, to promoting the use of clean energy.

"Their contributions demonstrate that local solutions can be an important part of efforts to address global challenges. May the spirit of the Local Heroes inspire the emergence of more catalysts for change in the future," concluded Sandry Pasambuna.
